Understanding local heritage

Once the concept and function(s) of heritage have been understood, the next step is learning to interpret heritage (see key concepts) to better understand it and motivate young people to get involved.

Using heritage interpretation exercises and media (images, sound, video, internet, etc.), young participants can further develop ties with their heritage, to cast a critical eye on the way in which it is managed and, subsequently, develop the need to communicate about their heritage and share what they discover.
